Yesterday, our College Counselor and a few of our Students attended a Leadership Summit at Barry University. They had a great time interacting with leaders from other high schools. Thank you for having us.

It was a blast having Holy Rosary and Mother of Christ at our school for a special showing of our Fall Production The Giver.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma's impact on South Florida, debris scattered the streets and trees of all sizes toppled to block passage on the roads. One unexpected hero, Sister Margaret Ann (aka "Chainsaw Nun"), quite literally took matters into her own hands.

An off-duty Miami-Dade Police officer shot a video of Sister Margaret Ann wielding a chainsaw and removing downed trees. Not only did she help clear the roads so that vehicles could pass, she also delivered a powerful message to everyone who watched.

No good deed goes unpunished. Hers went viral.

On November 17, the HEAT teamed up with Tissot to surprise Sister Margaret Ann during a pep rally at Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School, where she is the principal. She was presented with a $5,000 check along with a Tissot timepiece and tickets to an upcoming HEAT game.

True to form, Sister Margaret Ann's humble disposition underscored her act of selflessness.

"All I wanted to do was to clear the road and make it safer for other people. I had no idea - I still don't understand why it went so viral," said Sister Margaret Ann.

HEAT Legend Shane Battier was among the pep rally attendees. In-Arena host, Dale, emceed the rally while the HEAT Dancers, the Xtreme Team and Burnie entertained the students.

"It was awesome," said Battier. "How could you not be inspired by seeing a sister with a chainsaw clearing the street!"

Turns out Sister Magaret Ann is not only handy with a chainsaw-she has some serious free-throw shooting skills. She sank shot after shot during the pep rally.

"I love basketball," she said emphatically. "I love it with a passion, so to be able to see a Miami HEAT game? I'll be there."

A big thank you to the Macy’s Fashion Truck for bringing Holiday shopping to our front door. Our Faculty, Staff, and parents enjoyed some shopping right after school.
